Following a string of disappointing results, there is now a higher emphasis on this weekend’s FA Cup third round clash against Watford than some people might have anticipated.
When the draw was made, being pitted against Watford didn’t seem like the worst possible tie, apart from another long tedious trip for our fans. However, Newcastle will be coming into this game as the underdogs and neutrals will be surprised if we manage to fight out a draw for a return match at St James Park, never mind a win.
Lets hope the lads turn up on Saturday and don’t perform like a hungover Sunday league side. If we want to progress to the FA Cup fourth round for the first time in four seasons, we’ll have to be at our very best.
