It has been an excitingly hectic week for Rafa Benitez’s promotion-chasing Newcastle United as the Spaniard made three signings, while also selling two players.
Andros Townsend departed after just 13 appearances for the Magpies. The England international joined Crystal Palace after they activated his £13m release clause.
Along with Townsend, French flop Remy Cabella’s move to Marseille was finally made permanent after Les Bleus stumped up around £7m for his services.
This week also saw United make serious progress in terms of incomings – Matz Sels, Dwight Gayle and Matt Ritchie all became Newcastle players in the space of four days for an estimated total of £23m.
