Chelsea have an abundance of young centre-mids who need to be loaned out for increased playing time; Nathaniel Chalobah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Marco Van Ginkel are all worthy options. All are strong, athletic and capable on the ball; they would fit well into Rafa’s Newcastle team for rotation.
Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek were on the radar of NUFC last season, more so Loftus-Cheek. Due to our Championship status, we could not loan them because Conte wanted then to be playing in the top flight. Both players play for the England U21 setup and are very established in that team.
Chalobah is more of a defensively minded midfielder while Loftus-Cheek contributes more when attacking. Loftus-Cheek is more versatile and can play as a number 10 or a traditional defensive midfielder.
Van Ginkel is one of the oldest players on this list and will probably be looking for a permanent club after a few loans as well as being unable to secure a starting position at Chelsea, but if there is a chance for a loan then United should be interested.
The 24-year-old has been very prolific from midfield in his past two loan spells at PSV where he contributed with seven goals and four assists in 15 appearances in his last loan spell at PSV and then eight goals and one assist in 13 appearances in his previous stint.
