It has already been a frustrating window for Newcastle fans this summer, and it is only the 10th of July. There are still over seven weeks left in the summer transfer window, but Benitez would very much like to have the bulk of his business done as early as possible, and the Spaniard has been left frustrated by United’s immobility thus far.

To date, the permanent acquisition of Christian Atsu and the £9million signing of French defender Florian Lejeune are all that Newcastle fans have had to cheer about. However, most fans will be aware of the difficulties United are facing in the window, with trying to secure at least eight players in a hyper-inflated market proving problematic.

There is news this week, however (though you could say this for most weeks), that Newcastle are moving closer to a number of targets, and could even have two in by the weekend.

A position that it is vital that Rafa strengthens is up front, with guaranteed goals the surest way to ensure survival. With that in mind, here are eight realistic striker targets that Newcastle may be interested in this summer.
