Currently sitting in a dangerous 19th place, Newcastle’s enormous task gets bigger this weekend, as they take on an in-form Liverpool side at St. James’ Park.
Since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp, the Reds have been a force to be reckoned with, winning seven of their last eight games. They ran riot against Southampton in their last game, comfortably winning 6-1 at St. Mary’s.
It’s a totally contrasting story for the Magpies, though. Since the arrival of Steve McClaren, Newcastle have only won two of their opening 14 games in the Premier League this season. Whether or not their poor run of form will continue this weekend remains to be seen, but it isn’t looking too good at the minute.
