Loic Remy’s return to Tyneside is looking increasingly likely as RMC Sport journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi reveals he is in talks with Newcastle.

The Chronicle revealed this morning that Newcastle were among the clubs offered the chance to sign Remy this window by Chelsea, with Blues boss Guus Hiddink keen to free up funds to reinvest on new signings. The Magpies’ fellow relegation strugglers Swansea City, Norwich City and Aston Villa have also been offered the chance to sign the Frenchman.

Mohamed has since revealed that Newcastle have sent a delegation to meet with the representatives of Loïc Remy, ahead of a six months loan move. He also states that the 29-year-old will take a week to contemplate the offers made for him before making his final decision.

Which translates to:

Considering that Newcastle were linked with a move for Dwight Gayle earlier today, and Patrick Bamford last week, a move for Loïc Remy has to appease most fans.

The Frenchman has hardly featured for the Blues this season, but has scored 12 goals in 41 games since arriving at Stamford Bridge.
