With just two games left to play for Newcastle, much has changed since the appointment of fan favourite Rafa Benitez. United look more organised and committed, and best of all, they’re unbeaten in four games.
Although Premier League survival remains in the hands of Sunderland and Norwich, should the Magpies defeat Aston Villa on Saturday, they’ll be very confident going into the final game.
However, the trip to the toxic Villa Park will be a tough test for Rafa’s men. Last season, the team lost to QPR, who were officially relegated at the time.
The Villans will play with freedom as they can now express themselves in their final weeks as Premier League players.
Daryl Janmaat has returned to full fitness, but Rafa may stick with the battling Vurnon Anita at right-back for Saturday’s encounter.
Here’s the starting eleven we’d like to see for the crunch clash against Aston Villa.
