Due to inflation in today’s transfer market, mediocre players are priced ridiculously high, and decent players are priced even higher. So, getting the quality that we need for our first season back in the Premier League will be difficult, due to a relatively small transfer budget (in relation to the price of players in today’s market).
In order to get the right amount of quality players in, we may need to rely on the loan market, like we did last season with Christian Atsu.
Loans will help Newcastle in the short run because we can achieve a higher league position with the added quality and acquire more money for transfers in the following seasons, whilst still signing more players permanently this transfer window.
Understandably, many fans are against the idea of developing other club’s players, but if it benefits us for one season, then why not?
In this article, I take a look at players that Newcastle could potentially bring in on loan from reigning Premier League champions Chelsea.
