FIFA 18 is released in just over a week’s time and the Newcastle United player ratings for Ultimate Team have been revealed.

Many FIFA fans will spend hundreds, if not thousands, fleshing out on packs in order to obtain the best players on the transfer market, however if you see yourself as a bit of a “wheeler and dealer” then look no further than this current crop of Newcastle players.

Although they aren’t the highest rated, nor the best players on the game, they will certainly be within most gamer’s budgets, as one season in the Championship has seemingly had collateral damage on United’s quality on the game.

Defenders

Florian Lejeune is United’s highest rated player at a measly 79, and with his pace coming in at just 49, he might be one to avoid if you don’t fancy that ‘cheap pacy striker’ which we all know exist every year, running rings around him. Although, he does have some notable defensive stats.

United’s best defender on the game is arguably Chancel Mbemba, although he is lower rated than Florian at 76, his all round stats fair better for the FIFA fanatic, with impressive pace, defending and physical stats.

Midfielders

United’s midfield is arguably their best asset and that is why it is surprising to see players such as Mikel Merino in at just 74. However, the stats were based from last season’s performances so we’ll have to wait for his 87+ in FIFA 19.

Jonjo Shelvey is rated at 77, again the passing sensation does lack pace at just 62, but his other stats certainly make up for it, especially for any starter teams. The English link will be sure to provide good chemistry for anyone building a hybrid. His card is also very similar to another of United’s central midfielders, Henri Saivet, and he comes in at the same rating too.

If you’re looking for a pace demon to abuse the wings and the new crossing game play feature then look no further than Christian Atsu at 75 rated, with a blistering 91 pace. Newcastle’s midfield magician Matt Ritchie is also the same rating, however he has a considerably more well rounded card.

Attackers

Dwight Gayle still looks impressive, although the Englishman has had a downgrade on his pace, Joselu looks nothing short of average, and the only notable stat on Mitrovic’s base card is his physical, and even then, 81 isn’t all that.

Although the current crop of players aren’t going to set the FIFA world alight, if the Newcastle squad keep up their current form, then expect a few upgraded cards via informs. Lascelles already has one this season!
